My 5 Favorite Beauty Products So Far This Month

Here are a few of my favorite beauty products so far this month!

1.  Herbal Essences Beautiful Ends Intensive Mask – http://www.superdrug.com/herbal-essences/herbal-essences-beautiful-ends-intensive-mask-200ml/invt/200088/

This mask is £3.99 from Superdrug (link above) and it is 200ml. The product comes in a round, red tub and is located in the hair styling products section in the store.

This mask does wonders for my hair. As a teenager I dye my hair A LOT! From bleached blonde to jet black , you name a colour, my hair has been it! So as you can imagine, my hair is pretty damaged. This mask treats all my split ends and dry hairs and gives it a lovely shine and leaves it feeling silky and soft. I use it about 2 times a week and I noticed a huge difference with it after the 2nd use so it really works! It smells of raspberries which is not too overpowering but smells amazing!

2.  Tea Tree And Peppermint Facial Scrub – http://www.superdrug.com/toiletries-offers/tea-tree+peppermint-facial-scrub-75ml/invt/587206/

This scrub is £2.99 from Superdrug and it is 75ml. The scrub comes in a small tube which is a little bit like a mini toothpaste tube but has a big round lid on the bottom! It can be found in the skin care section at Superdrug.

The scrub works wonders for my black heads and it is good at scrubbing off any dead skin cells on your face. It smells of peppermint and the consistency is thick and white with the scrubbing beads in it. You simply apply to damp skin and scrub it onto your face using your hands or a face scrub brush. You then wash off with warm water and pat dry with a towel. It leaves my skin feeling and looking fresh. It hasn’t got rid of as many black heads as I thought it would of , however it does leave my skin looking really bright and fresh.

3.  Got2b Sexy Mousse 250ml – http://www.amazon.co.uk/Schwarzkopf-got2b-2Sexy-Mousse-250ml/dp/B0046M0OVI

This Mousse is just £2.99 from Amazon , however you can purchase this from supermarkets cheaper sometimes due to the special offers they hold. The bottle is 250ml. The packaging is bright red so you wouldn’t miss it on the shop shelves. It can be found in the hair styling products section. The product is thick and white and smells sweet. The consistancy is thick and absorbs well into the hair.

The mousse helps lift your hair and prevent it from becoming flat. It makes my hair shiny and bouncy and it gives a brilliant versatility to my hair  where I can change my parting and change the texture without worrying it being ruined by wind or rain!

4. E.L.F  Mineral Infused Face Primer – http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/product~prodID~176.htm

The primer is £6.00 from the Eyes lips face website. The primer comes in a white bottle with a pump to release the product. It is a clear  gel, like liquid. You simply squirt a small amount onto the tips of your fingers and distribute over a clean face evenly. You then apply your foundation and concealer as normal afterwards.

The primer helps your makeup to last all day without it getting wiped off or smudged. It is lightweight so you don’t have to worry about your face feeling heavy. It gives a smoother finish to my makeup look and actually creates a more natural appearance !

5. EOS Organic Lip Balm – Summer Fruits – http://www.naturallyfabulous.co.uk/eos—organic-lip-balm-summer-fruit-3268-p.asp

The lip balm varies in price and colour and smell. I have the Summer fruits lip balm which cost me £4.95 from Amazon , however it is now a lot more expensive on Amazon , now at £16.99 !! I found it on Naturally Fabulous , which are selling it a lot cheaper!

EOS Lip balms leave my lips feeling soft and smooth. It also works as a brilliant primer for when applying lip gloss or lipstick. The smell is lovely , reminds me of a summers day! It comes in a small sphere ball which is very handy for when you are out and about. It is a little pricey however worth it if you are looking for something to protect your lips and make them look smooth.

E.L.F 6 in 1 Beauty To Go Review

As you may know by now , I am a huge E.L.F fan. I love the quality and price of their products and they haven’t disappointed me yet. I won the E.L.F 6 in 1 beauty to go palette in a competition that E.L.F held over Facebook, so I was pretty pleased that I was getting a free gift from E.L.F worth £10. Below is a picture of the packaging :

The palette is £10 on their website. You get 6 small palettes that have 10 eye shadows, 2 lipsticks and one bronzer/blush. You also get 1 black carry case, where you can choose the palette you want then snap it into the box and off you go with it. It is a very good idea however the first problem I found was, where I was going to store the 5 remaining palettes while one of them is tucked away safely in the 1 box that E.L.F provided. I instantly thought that it was a tad silly of E.L.F to only provide 1 case. So now I am figuring out what to do with the other palettes!

LINK TO THE PALETTE : http://eyeslipsface.co.uk/product~prodID~323.htm

Below are some pictures of the eye shadow swatches – I got a few duplicate palettes in the box so theres only a few pictures :

Three of the 6 palettes were the same or very similar so I only swatched 4 palettes. The first palettes was the one above. The colours are mainly neutral/natural colours. Each palette had a variety of matte and shimmery eye shadows which I thought was very good. The lip glosses in this palette are lovely, however a little too pale for my liking. And the bronzer is a lovely colour which gives you a sun kissed glow.

Palette 2 had mainly dark blues and green colours. These would look lovely worn in the evening and would be handy if you are wanting to create a smokey blue eye. The lip glosses in this palette are lovely and rosy and give you that lovely rosy, fresh look. The bronzer in this is a little too light for my liking, however it would work great as a powder foundation as it is quite matte.

This palette I thought was lovely and it reminded me of the colours that I would wear for a party or clubbing. The colours are bright and bold. You have a shimmery white which would be perfect for highlighting , and you have a shimmery black which would be perfect for eyeliner. The lip glosses are what I would describe as “barbie pink” so if you like bright pink lips then you’ll love these! The blush in this palette is a light pink colour which will give you a lovely natural glow.

Finally , this palette focuses more on pink and purple colours. If you are quite a girly person then this would end up being your favorite palette because the colours are lovely and pink and gorgeous purple. The lip glosses are good too – one is a dark pink/purple colour and the other is a lighter pink/purple colour. The blush in this palette has a lovely shimmer to it so if you love glitter then you’ll love this blush!

So that is all the swatches for the eye shadows – I hope you like them! E.L.F’s eye shadows usually last from 4 hours without primer , but with primer they can last up to 8 hours. They don’t crease much , however I do suggest using a primer as it will prevent them from creasing quicker. There wasn’t a lot of fallout from these eye shadows either , however when storing you might need to cover the lip glosses up because I have found already the fall outs are going onto the lip gloss!

E.L.F Packaged these very well and I was also impressed with the delivery time. E.L.F is generally good with dispatch and delivery time, however around Christmas time , you expect it to take a little longer.  Below is a picture of the box it came in

So that’s my review of the E.L.F 6 in 1 Beauty To Go. I hope you like it, if you would like to see any more reviews just comment down below!

Urban Decay Sustainable Palette!

Okay, so a few weeks ago I ordered Urban Decays sustainable eye shadow palette. I purchased it online at :

http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk/Urban+Decay+Sustainable+Shadow+Box/116151886,default,pd.html

It cost £27 but in total it was £30 due to the shipping.

This is my first Urban Decay palette and i have to say that I am already impressed. It was well packaged and protected – my biggest fear was it not being well packaged and it getting damaged in the post – House of Fraser were amazing and it arrived safely – even though the box was a tad squashed.

When you purchase this palette you get 10 eye shadows, a mini eye shadow brush, a mirror and a travel sized primer potion. The box has a really cute butterfly pattern on it and slides open which is really sleek and stylish. It is small enough to put in your handbag or travel bag, and it is big enough to hold the eye shadows, mirror and brush!

(the 2p coin is to show you how big the product is)

The colours included in this palette are :

YDK – this is a shimmery caramel colour

FLIPSIDE – this is a light green/blue colour

GRIFTER – this is a light rosy pink colour

UZI – this is a shimmery white colour

TWICE BAKED – this is a matte with a tiny shimmer brown colour

MIDNIGHT COWBOY RIDES AGAIN – this is a light pink/brown colour

FLASH – this is a matte purple colour

OIL SLICK – this is a shimmery black colour

KIDDIE POOL – this is a light shimmery blue colour

HALF BAKED – this is a light brown colour

The eye shadow colour names are very unique and quirky. I like that Urban Decay comes up with creative names for their eye shadows as opposed to just naming them “brown, Red, Blue, Pink,  etc”.

The pigment of the eye shadows is amazing. They last up to 8 hours without creasing which is really , really good! With the primer , the colours stand out more and stay on a lot longer. The variety of colours is great. You have a light and dark brown so you could easily create a lovely brown smokey eye. There are colours that you could wear at night or during the day. The shimmery black would look great as eye liner and the shimmery white is great for highlighting.

Overall this is a great palette for travelling or using at home. The colour choice is really good and there is definitely something for every one in this palette. The only downside I will say is that I found when applying the eye shadows there was a lot of glitter fallout – not that actual colour, just the glitter. However this can be resolved if tapping some of the product off of the brush first and using primer to help it stick to the eye lid better. The brush is good quality and the primer is amazing!

I recommend this to first time Urban Decay buyers and regular Urban Decay buyers as this palette is wonderful!

Mini ‘Select Fashion’ Haul

Select Fashion is an online clothes store which sells a lot of affordable and good quality clothing.

http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/

My mini haul consists of :

1 x Black Tiger T shirt  – This was £6.00

1x Leopard Print PU Leggings – These were £8.00

1x Pair of Leopard Print Cross Over Super Wedges – These were  £10.00

Below are a couple of pictures of my purchases :

The leopard print leggings are 100% polyester. They are lovely and long and look great with flat shoes, heels and wedges. They aren’t the normal cotton material which felt a tad weird however the shiny faux leathery feel is quite comfy! Below is the link to the leggings :

http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/clothing/s034-0503-21_brown-black.html

The tiger print t shirt is 100% cotton. It has a lovely soft touch to it and a scoop neck which doesn’t show too much skin. It would look great worn casually or even formally from its scoop bottom style (the front is longer than the back). It is light in weight but nice and cosy to wear in the winter or summer. Below is the link to the t shirt :

http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/clothing/s035-1401-06_blk-white.html

(I’ve rolled the leggings up here, so you can see the shoe’s properly)

The leopard wedges are 14cm(5.5″) in height. They are very comfy and surprisingly easy to walk in. I find that with wedges they are easier to walk in due to the support in the middle of the foot , whereas with heels there’s not a lot of support so I tend to wobble in them a bit more! The leopard print style is very trendy and the straps are very versatile and can be dressed up or dressed down. I would wear these with leggings, jeans, shorts or skirts. Below is a link to the Wedges :

http://www.selectfashion.co.uk/sale/s034-3201-22_animal.html

So that’s my Mini Haul! Sorry it’s not any bigger but a lot of the things I ordered ended up going out of stock so I had to be refunded. I have a few more bits and bobs arriving over the next few days so keep your eye out for a post about them!

ELF 32 Piece Eye Shadow Palette Review

I am a huge fan of the EyesLipsFace (ELF) makeup range. I love the amazing quality of their products and the price too! They do not test on animals either which is another bonus! If you are looking for a makeup range that is both affordable and good quality then I highly recommend ELF. They have a wide range of products which come in all shapes, colours and sizes. One of the many good things about their range is if you don’t like the product you receive it’s not like you have wasted a lot of money! But I am sure you won’t be disappointed.

Below I have reviewed the palette via Vlog so you can check that out – However below the video you will see a written review with pictures  If you cannot access the video – Enjoy!

E.L.F 32 PIECE EYE SHADOW PALETTE

The palette comes in two styles. You have the Natural palette which mostly consists of warm toned eye shadows. Then you have the Bright palette which mostly consists of brighter and more shimmery eye shadows. I purchased the Bright palette because I already had a lot of darker eye shadows and decided that I would brighten up my makeup a little considering it was really dark and dull here in the UK.

Above is the Natural Palette. If you are on a budget and can’t afford the new Urban Decay Naked Palette then this would be a good alternative as it has the natural and warm tones in the shadows which the Naked Palette has.

Above is the Bright Palette. This is the palette that I purchased. It is the first ELF palette I bought. The colours are lovely and bright so it is perfect if you are trying to brighten up your makeup or if you enjoy wearing bright eye shadow or doing smokey eyes.

I found that I had to pack quite a lot of the colour on , however when I used primer and used a damp eye shadow brush , I found the colour was a lot easier to apply. The palette comes with a little brush with sponges on the ends. It’s not the best applicator however it does the job.

The palette costs just £6 from the eyeslipsface website. It is the perfect palette if you are a beginner or on a budget. However if you have used Urban Decay Palettes and Mac Palettes then this might be a little bit of a disappointment for you. But give it a go because it’s not like you are wasting a lot of money!

My Predictions for 2012 !

Okay so I bet you are all wondering what the latest fashions, makeup and hair trends are going to be this year. I certainly am!

These were the most well known trends of 2011 :

CLOTHES

The Kimono

Here you see Miley Cyrus pulling off a gorgeous Kimono style cardigan. I saw quite a lot of celebrities wearing these last year and I even thought of getting one myself but never did. The style comes from the traditional Japanese Kimono which is worn mostly during special events. However they are worn mostly for casual use now.

Miley Cyrus Wearing A Komono

Cargo Pants

Cargo pants became a trend around May 2011. The first celebrities spotted wearing these were Cheryl Cole and Kim Kardashian. The Cargo style came from the original Cargo Pants which are used as a loose fitting trouser which is mostly worn when doing outdoor activity. However designers created a Cargo Pant which is fashionable for both men and women. The skinny style allows them to be fashionable and the large pockets keeps the Cargo sporty style.

Celebrities Showing off their new Cargos

HAIR

Ombreing

Ombreing is where you dip dye the ends of your hair a lighter shade than your own colour. I saw many celebrities doing this and many of my friends too and I have to say I wasn’t a big fan of it. To me it looked like you had dyed your hair a few years ago, let it grow out and then the dye’s just left on the ends.

Celebrities with their Ombre hair

The Fringe

Ah the Fringe. While it looks nice on some , in my personal opinion I find that if you aren’t careful it can make you look rather childish. I think my view of this comes from when I was very young. Pretty much every child had a fringe and when I see an adult with a fringe I just instantly think back to the greasy, stuck to the forehead fringes that we used to have! Many Celebrities such as Leona Lewis and Reese Witherspoon did however, pull it off.

MAKEUP

Red Lips

The red lips have never been out of fashion. You can never go wrong with a red lip in my opinion. But, the only way you can pull it off is by making sure you haven’t left half of it on your teeth!! Red lips added the finishing touch to the Sophisticated look in 2011.

Smokey Eyes

Like the red lips ,smokey eyes never fail to impress me. They look great, they go with pretty much every outfit and hairstyle, and the colour choice is endless.

MY PREDICTIONS FOR 2012

Okay so now for my Predictions for this years trends!

Aztec Print

Now the reason for me thinking that Aztec is the next big pattern is because I’ve been watching the newest fashion coming into online stores and local  shops and i have started seeing this pattern slowly appear. If you don’t know what Aztec print is heres a pic.

The best way I can describe it is a tribal pattern.

Short Hair

Yes…short hair. Most girls who have long hair would dread cutting their long locks off. I myself had hair past my shoulders in January 2011 and decided that it was time for a dramatic change and chop my long hair into a pixie cut. Why? Because long hair was boring me and everyone had long hair at the time and I wanted to look different. But yes , short hair, I think it is back in because more and more celebrities such as Kiera Knightly and Emma Watson are taking a stand and cutting their long hair and stepping outside of the crowd and being different! Good for them!

Orange and Yellow eyeshadow

As strange as it sounds I genuinely think that these two colours will be very popular this year. The colours remind me of a sunset and would go down a storm in the summer in my opinion. The reason why  I think that these will be popular is because last year was the dark smokey eye trend …. so this year I think it’ll be all about bold and bright colours.

So these are my predictions! Leave me a comment telling me what you think will be the trends or what you would like to see become a 2012 trend.
